What is the Tell A Friend Tour, Where is it headed and Who’s going?
Tell A Friend Tour is a freeskiing park tour that travels to resorts film, ski with fans, and then hold a free raffle/pizza party. This year we are visiting resorts in VT, MA, CT, PA, WV, OH, MN, and WI. Ross Imburgia, Charlie Dayton, Ian Compton, Cole Drexler, Allan Lam, and other Line Skis regional riders.
Why? Why create the Tell A Friend Tour?
Over the last seven years of filming Line Traveling Circus, we visited a lot of resorts other people never really go to. A lot of these places had tons of kids that are really into freeskiing but they aren’t really on any ones radar. These skiers are the bread and butter of the ski industry and it only makes sense to bring a ski event directly to them.
TAFT represents what freeskiing was when I started in 2002. Fun, but also serious about progression because your hungry for it. It was about learning a new trick with a bunch of friends and pushing each other because it was fun. None of us really went out of our way to “train” for comps but still competed at local events, and used them for a source of community more then anything. It’s true freeskiing, and that what I want to show the next generation. Not comp skiing, not film skiing – just freeskiing.
With the Traveling Circus, you’ve criss-crossed the country multiple times – What are the top five bits of advice you’d give anyone who’s about to head out on the open road?
1. Need dental floss? Rip a small strand of the elastic out of a sock.
2. Don’t be a tool to fast food. Find a grocery store.
3. Download audio books for long trips.
4. When driving at night place a small dimly lit LED over your head.
5. Avoid drinking things like Monster, RockStar and Redbull All the sugar and other stuff they put in those will just make you crash harder, and feel sick. Slowly sip coffee, and get a 5 hour energy.
What’s your favorite stop?
I’m really looking forward to all the stops. Each one is going to have a different crowd of skiers, and things set up. Can’t really say I have a favorite stop but last year we had the best showing at Ski Sundown, CT and had a really good crew of kids at Butternut, MA.
In 140 characters or less – Why should we go to TAFT?
Come to TAFT to have fun skiing, eat pizza, and win free stuff!

40 Days of Photographs – Rob Heule documents the Meanwhile In Canada trip.
“5 dudes, 40 days & 8000 km’s in an RV during the middle of a Canadian Winter was not as simple as we anticipated. Before Mack Jones, my brother Jay, Graeme (Filmer) & Kyle (Photographer) set out on our journey from the Pacific to the Atlantic, we were warned by numerous friends that we might not enjoy our nights in -40 degree weather. Luckily we only experienced one week of typical Canadian deep freeze across the Prairies (Saskatchewan & Manitoba) and the rest was smooth sailing, making the remainder of the trip seem tropical in comparison. Equipped with a lot of shovels, a bungee, the necessary warm weather gear, and our good attitudes, we set out to explore the streets of all the major cities and small towns across our home country. The goal: to have as much on our skis as possible, and make a movie about our adventure.
Directing a project from the initial planning stages, to releasing the final product online proved to be one of the biggest challenges we’ve worked towards in our skiing careers thus far, but the most rewarding. To have complete creative control over a project was amazing, and all of us couldn’t be happier with the result. The movie showcases the direction we want skiing to take, and we hope to encourage others to follow the same path.” – Rob Heule

Meanwhile In Canada – A Film by Graeme Meiklejohn & Rob Heule
“Join skiers Rob Heule, Mack Jones and Jay Heule as they set out on a 40 day cross-Canada RV trip with one goal: to explore their home country while hitting as many street spots as possible along the way. As the eyes of the skiing world were on the Winter Olympics, the boys were out adventuring with the aim of showing that with a little creativity, fun can be had on skis just about anywhere. With an all-Canadian soundtrack, crew, and itinerary, watch as they venture from the shores of Pacific Ocean all the way to the Atlantic.”
