Roy Kittler made his way to the Pacific Northwest last Spring for the annual migration of pro athletes to the late season snow destination of Mt. Hood, Oregon and the West Coast Sessions. Here’s an edit to recap his time there.
Had an awesome time shredding in Mt. Hood for the West Coast Session 8 with the whole Euro Crew!

About West Coast Sessions:
For eight years and running we’ve been pushing the sport of skiing by giving talented young riders, photographers and filmers a top-level, low-stress venue to display and develop their skills. But don’t call us a training camp—we’re more of a family gathering.
Each May skiers from across the globe descend on Mt. Hood to enjoy prime spring skiing conditions. Along with our event hosts Timberline Ski Area and Windell’s Camp, we’re here to welcome them, show them just how good the spring riding in Oregon can be, and publish free top-quality media online for our fans.
“Some shots from my 1 week vacation in LAAX.

“The last couple of weeks have been sick in Austria. We headed up to Kaunertal glacier to enjoy some slushy parklaps together with Lukas Schäfer, Tom Ritsch, Christian Stadler and myself! Enjoy some late season fun with the boys!” – Roy Kittler

After finishing 2nd in the European Open Slopestyle and 3rd at the Austrian Open, LINE MC Roy Kittler got voted to the Rider of the Week from Europe’s finest freeski website downdays.eu!
last week was pretty amazing for some of the LINE Mountain Commands.
We gathered our troops in Laax, Switzerland in the beautiful Rocks Resort.
It was (as always) nice to live with the buddys from the line team. This year it was Niklas Eriksson, Roy Kittler, Jaime Puigdengoles and one of our FT riders Kim Boberg.
Thanks here to Roy’s girl Nini for the awesome chockolate muffins and to Eva Patscheider for the great bag of sweets and groceries! You girls rock!
The training on Monday and Tuesday went pretty good and everyone was happy when the slopestyle qualification started of on wednesday morning.
The qualis went great and all MC’s on the startlist got into the semifinals on friday. Sadly the day didn’t get as planned for one of our friends and visitors at the apartment and ended up with a torn acl… Get well soon Lena!! Hope to see you back on the startlist next year!
On Friday Moring 7.50 am it was time to catch the first gondola up to the Crap Sogn Gion for the Slopestyle semifinals and finals.
Some of our guys where lucky, some others not that much, but that’s just how a comp goes! Roy was pumped for the entire week and went to the startgate pretty confident after winning his qualification heat 2 days earlier. He got his run down very clean and qualified for the finals.
Following him into the finals was Joss Christensen who convinced the judges with a very clean rail run, a flat 9, sw right 7 and sw dub 10. Jaime and Niklas did great on the first part but then struggeld a bit with some binding problem on the second jump.
Then it was time for the finals.
Roy scored high with his run all week long and so there was no reason to change it. He went big, spinning both directions with solid grabs and got himself onto the podium in second place!!! so stoked for you dude!!! Joss followed Roy and got 5th at the end. It was the first time 2 of our athletes made it into the finals and even one got on the podium!!
On friday it was time for our european pipe machine Nils Lauper to get his game on.
Through a good result last year he was prequalified for the semi finals, where he did a great job and qualified for the finals.
If you know Nils, you know there is always a pretty big show when he is dropping in – same this year. His first hit was unreal!!! I’m pretty sure if there would have been a highest air titel it would have been his! Sadly there wasn’t so he finished up 7th with a doub flair, rightside flair, his signature cork 7 screaming seaman and a steezy sw alleyoop 7.
All in all we had once again a great time in Laax and we really hope this event will be held again next year!
the LINE MC’s are ready!
This past weekend the Austrian Freeski Open where held in Kaprun, Austria with a couple of LINE Mc’s doing their best ot get one of the top spots.
Roy Kittler made it to a sweet 3rd place with a right 270 on 270 out at the downrail, switch 270on to pretzel 270 at the rainbow/down box and switch 12 mute ot Right 9 tail on the jumps.
Patrick Hollaus was once again the best austrian in the competition and got crowned the Austrian Champ 2011.
Check out a video of the final:
A day at The Canyons with TC Crew!
Skiers: Jack “JB” Borland, Wiglaf, Roy Kittler, John Pascal JR, Chris Logan, Bill Fresson
Cloudy day up on the hill today so we took a drive down the valley and then up the 24+ switchbacks up to La Plange which was above the clouds (sort of). We were told about a nice skatepark to maybe build some stuff at. Build we did and fun we had. Enjoy the pics.
After about 24 hours of traveling into the future (we’re 8 hours ahead of PST) we’ve made it to Europe! We’re posted up in Val d’Isere, France for the week with our gracious host and fellow Line ride Leo Taillefer for the Gpsy Feelin crew. Along with other Line Europe rider Roy Kittler, Niklas Erikson and Tobi Mangold. Throw in the guys from Downdays.eu and we have a recipe for fun. Enjoy the pics!
